
Marcy Crawford
Marcy Crawford is a meditation teacher and mindfulness trainer based in Simi Valley, California. She is Senior Teacher and Director of Coach Development at Unified Mindfulness, Founder of Embodied Teaching, and Co-Founder of The Center for Contemplative Enrichment. Marcy has three children between the ages of 12 and 24; having come from a family of teachers herself, she has been deeply involved in education for over 20 years. Marcy has served in every capacity as a parent volunteer, from teaching mindfulness to serving several years on a school board. After completing her term as School Board President, Marcy conducted a pilot study on mindfulness interventions in multiple grade levels. What she learned about the gaps in teacher understanding and student attentional skills led her to develop Embodied Teaching, an innovative approach to mindfulness training that can enable anyone to bring the power of mindful awareness into relationships or groups they serve. Marcy's extensive experience teaching mindfulness includes leading retreats, private coaching, mentoring coaches, teaching advanced mindfulness training courses, project management of international mindfulness conferences, and development of customized programs for California fire academies and the San Joaquin County Office of Education. Marcy has been a featured speaker on podcasts and for organizations including the Mindful Society Global Institute.

In this workshop, Marcy Crawford will offer a pragmatic definition of and approach to mindfulness practice that is grounded in building attentional skills. You'll learn the basics of mindfulness practice and also how mindful communication strategies can be integrated into all of your interactions.
